I can only assume that question was posed for me. Of course you could have asked me directly, but nevermind that.
A conurbation is an agglomeration of cities, towns, suburbs, whatever you want to call those things into some sort of "working" whole. "Metropolitan area" would be a synonym. What we generally refer to as Los Angeles is perhaps the clearest example of a conurbation. When we talk about "Los Angeles" we generally include the many bits that aren't legally part of the city of Los Angeles.
Why do you want to know anyway?
Oh, I know what a conurbation is. I guess it was just my way of getting you to write the post on MY blog.
